Correctional facilities, appropriation for design and construction.


         ENTITLED, An Act to  revise the appropriation for the design and construction of certain correctional facilities and to declare an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:

     Section  1.  That section 1 of chapter 59 of the 2004 Session Laws be amended to read as follows:

     There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of one million six hundred fifty thousand four hundred eighty-six dollars ($1,650,486) one million four hundred thirty-nine thousand one hundred eighty-one dollars ($1,439,181) , and authorized in other fund expenditure authority the sum of five hundred eighty-five thousand thirty-five dollars ($585,035) six hundred three thousand three hundred thirty-three dollars ($603,333) , and in federal expenditure authority the sum of eleven million seven hundred ninety-nine thousand ninety dollars ($11,799,090) twelve million four hundred sixteen thousand two hundred seventy-five dollars ($12,416,275) , or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the Department of Corrections for the purchase of land, construction, completion, furnishing, equipping, and maintaining of correctional facilities including architectural and engineering services, plumbing, water, sewer, electric facilities, site acquisition and preparation, construction of sidewalks and driveways, and landscaping the grounds of the facilities.

     Section  2.  Whereas, this Act is necessary for the support of the state government and its existing public institutions, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
