Teacher-parent conferences and teacher in-service training,
number of hours credited as a day in session for these activities limited.

         ENTITLED, An Act to  revise certain provisions regarding the time spent in conducting teacher- parent conferences and in-service training during the school term.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:

     Section  1.  That § 13-26-4 be amended to read as follows:

     13-26-4.   A school may have teacher-parent conferences during the school year and not more than three such days 16.5 hours may be counted as days hours in session.

     Section  2.  That § 13-26-4.1 be amended to read as follows:

     13-26-4.1.   The school board may designate a maximum of one 5.5 hours of the three 16.5 session days hours provided for in §   13-26-4 as in-service teacher training days .
