The meeting was called to order by Chair Dykstra.

The Department of Revenue and Regulation gave the committee an update.
1. Paul Kinsman, Secretary of the Department of Revenue and Regulation, presented an overview of his department and introduced his staff. (Handout #1)
2. Jan Talley, Director of Business Tax, discussed the Contractors Excise Tax and Sales and Use Tax. (Handout #2)
3. Jane Page, Assistant Director of Revenue and Regulations, talked about Streamlining State and Local Sales Taxes. (Handout #3)
4. Michael Kenyon, Director of Property and Special Taxes, presented information from the 2006 Annual Report. (Handout #1)

Public Testimony was heard concerning Taxes. Speakers were:
1. David Owen, South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry
2. Mary Duvall, South Dakota Farm Bureau
3. Shawn Lyons, South Dakota Retailers Association
4. Rick Vallery, South Dakota Wheat Incorporation
