A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,  Honoring the 1998 Gregory Gorillas High School football team and the students and staff involved in the football program.

     WHEREAS,  the 1998 Gregory Gorillas High School football team won the South Dakota 11B High School Football Championship with a 10-2 record by virtue of outstanding character, dedication to excellence, and perseverance on and off the field; and

     WHEREAS,  the 1998 Gregory Gorillas High School football team received superb leadership guidance from coaches Aaron Beavers, Dan Whalen, Mike Gassen, and Chris Determan; and inspired performance from team members Tim Dacy, Lucas Mikkelsen, Mike Vandenbosch, Chris Mikkelsen, Duane Lunne, Riley Kirwan, Joe Studenberg, Brady Johnson, Tyler Hoffart, Cody Spann, Aaron Krueger, Jason Grim, E.J. Hoffart, Chad Slade, Clint Willuweit, Chris Albers, Dan Fiebelkorn, Jesse Biggins, Hank Wonnenberg, Dan Beck, Derek Nelson, Ben Bearshield, Jon Marts, Nathan Fuhrer, Dan Grant, John Vakiner, Jess Moser, Aaron Hogrefe, Andrew Hamilton, L.J. Hoy, Beau Beck, Jim Straight, Josh Heck, Tom Miller, Jed Gassen, Bart Diekmann, Tyler Hogue, Josh Gilkerson, Josh Hogue, and Eric Hotz; managers Mark Braun, Andy Grim, and Andy Willuweit; Statisticians Scott Anshutz and Kevin Mikkelsen; and cheerleaders Sonya Miller, Jaimie Braun, Marie Adams, Karen Bartling, Erin Stukel, Kyra Pochop, and Monica Hogrefe; and

     WHEREAS,  the Joe Robbie MVP, Clint Willuweit; the Offensive Back of the Year, Chris Mikkelsen; the Lineman of the Year, Ben Bearshield; and teammate E.J. Hoffart were awarded Class 11B First-team All-State Awards for their exceptional performances and dedication during the 1998 season:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED,  by the Seventy-fourth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Gregory Gorillas High School football team be recognized for their excellence in athletics and academics for the 1998-1999 school year.
