        A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,  Honoring and commending Pace Douglas Clayton for his military service to the United States of America.

    WHEREAS, Pace Clayton proudly served as a Private First Class in the United States Army; and

    WHEREAS, PFC Pace Clayton was wounded in the line of duty while serving his country in Afghanistan; and

    WHEREAS, PFC Pace Clayton received the Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (ACM), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (GWOTSM), the Army Service Ribbon (ASR), The NATO Medal, and lastly the Combat Infantryman Badge; and

    WHEREAS, PFC Pace Clayton was awarded The Purple Heart Medal, a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those who have been wounded or killed while serving on or after April 5, 1917, with the U. S. military:

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Eighty-Eighth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature honors Private First Class Pace Douglas for his sacrifice and service to the State of South Dakota and the United States Army.
