        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to establish a classroom innovation grant program and to make an appropriation therefor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. There is hereby established in the Department of Education a classroom innovation grant program. The purpose of the grant program is to provide funding for classroom innovation to allow classroom teachers to utilize technology in creative and innovative ways to enhance the learning and achievement of their students. Applications for the innovation grants may be submitted by individual teachers, school districts, or education service agencies established pursuant to § 13-3-76.
    Section 2. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the Department of Education for distribution through the classroom innovation grant program established in this Act.
    Section 3. The secretary of education shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.
    Section 4. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated by June 30, 2015, shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.
