A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Honoring T.F. Riggs High School Wrestling Team
of Pierre, South Dakota, for an excellent season and for its victorious performance at the
2013 Class A State Wrestling Tournament.
WHEREAS, the Pierre Riggs High School Wrestling Team became the 2013 Class A State
Champions under the guidance and direction of head coach Ryan Noyes, assistant coach Shawn
Lewis, and team volunteers Troy Wiebe, Chad Uhrig, Bill Kaiser, Mike Stroup, and Brandon
Lowery; and
WHEREAS, the Pierre Riggs High School Wrestling Team won the Watertown tournament,
the Rapid City Invitational which boasts thirty-two teams from four states, the Valentine
(Nebraska) Invitational, the Mitchell Invitational, the East vs.West Wrestling Duals, the ESD
Tournament, the Region Tournament, and the State Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the Pierre Riggs High School Wrestling Team's 2013 dual record was
seventeen to two, with its only two losses to New Jersey and Wisconsin, at The Clash, arguably
the best tournament in the Nation; and
WHEREAS, the Pierre Riggs High School Wrestling Team has lost only one dual in South
Dakota in the past three years and has been ESD champions for the past two years; and
WHEREAS, ten Pierre wrestlets earned individual Class A State Tournament honors
including: Spencer Sarringar (4
th place), Jebben Keyes (2
nd place), Tanner Monfore (6
th place),
Caleb Stoltenburg (2
nd place), Seth Scott (3
rd place), Dawson Monfore (2
nd place), Kyle
Sarringar (3
rd place), Trey Maier (2
nd place), Lane Lettau (3
rd place), and Dylan Bennett (6
th
place); and
WHEREAS, the Pierre T.F. Riggs High School Wrestling Team exemplified teamwork,
commitment, focus, and sportsmanship in achieving its goals at the South Dakota Class A State
Championship:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Eighty-Eighth Legislature of the
State of South Dakota, that the Pierre T.F. Riggs High School Wrestling Team be congratulated
on winning the 2013 Class A State Wrestling Tournament.
