        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to appropriate money to the South Dakota Board of Regents - Agricultural Experiment Station to implement a research investment program.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of one dollar ($1), or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station for the purpose of funding programs to strengthen the scientific research of the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station and to modernize the research facilities to support nationally competitive research.
    Section 2. The funds shall be used to expand the ability of South Dakota scientists to compete for national funding opportunities, assist in faculty retention, and for infrastructure improvements. The funds may also be used to help leverage funds or match funds for the benefit of the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station.
    Section 3. The executive director of the Board of Regents shall approve vouchers and the

state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.
    Section 4. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.
