ENTITLED, An Act to expand the application of the farm decal system.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That § 32-5-97.1 be amended to read as follows:
32-5-97.1. Farmers or ranchers who own a motor vehicle as defined by § 32-3-1 used wholly and
exclusively to carry their own supplies, farm equipment, and household goods to or from the owner's
farm or ranch or used by the farmer or rancher to carry his or her own agricultural products,
livestock, and produce to or from storage or market or used by farmers or ranchers in exchange of
service in hauling of such supplies or agricultural products, livestock, and produce, may apply to the
county treasurer for a decal with the word, farm, inscribed on the decal. The decal shall be placed
on the license plate of the vehicle for which the application is made. The department shall prescribe
the form and size of the decal and the manner of application. The department shall supply the decals
to the county treasurer.
