        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to revise certain definitions regarding the appraiser certification program.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. That chapter 36-21B be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
    For the purposes of this chapter, appraisal practice is any valuation service, including appraisal, appraisal review, or appraisal consulting, performed by an individual acting as an appraiser.
    Section 2. That § 36-21B-2 be amended to read as follows:
    36-21B-2. For the purposes of this chapter, an appraisal is the act or process of estimating developing an opinion of value of real estate for another and for compensation.
    Section 3. That § 36-21D-3 be amended to read as follows:
    36-21D-3. For the purposes of this chapter, an appraisal is the act or process of estimating developing an opinion of value of real estate for another and for compensation.
