A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Celebrating the Howard High School football team for winning the Class 9A state championship.

WHEREAS, the Howard High School football team claimed the title of the 2021 South Dakota Class 9A high school football state champions. The Tigers, led by head coach Pat Ruml and assistant coaches Troy Loudenburg, Adam North, and Chad Podhradsky, ended their season with a perfect 12-0 record. Their final margin of victory was thirty-seven points in a 55-18 victory against Herreid/Selby Area at the Dakota Dome; and

WHEREAS, it was a statistic-crushing game for Howard's offensive players. Tight end Jace Sifore's catch went for 58 yards and a touchdown. Running back Griffin Clubb needed just five carries to surpass 100 yards, going for 115 and two scores. Running back Ty Beyer added to the group of 100-yard rushers, running for 107 yards and two scores on just four attempts. John Callies was the game’s MVP with 138 yards and three touchdowns:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Seventh Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Howard High School football team be commended for winning the Class 9A state championship and for displaying exemplary teamwork, leadership, and commitment.
