A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Celebrating the Platte-Geddes High School Football Team's state championship win.

WHEREAS, the Platte-Geddes football team went 12-0 this past season, following a 4-6 record a year ago. The Platte-Geddes Black Panthers defeated the Hamlin Chargers with a final score of 42-12 to win the 9AA State Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Black Panthers started off the game with a 58-yard drive capped by a six-yard touchdown pass from Grayson Hanson to Jackson Neuman. Platte-Geddes kept their momentum going with another touchdown in the first few minutes of the second quarter by tight end Jackson Olson; and

WHEREAS, the last half of the game looked promising for the Black Panthers. Platte-Geddes scored a field goal within the first five minutes of the third quarter and the first play of the fourth quarter was a 50-yard touchdown pass. The Black Panthers then scored three more touchdowns during the last quarter of the game:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Sixth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Platte-Geddes High School Football Team be commended for their teamwork, leadership, hard work, and commitment to their school and team and for their 2020 state championship.
