A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending the South Dakota Army National Guard's 152nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion of Brookings for being awarded the Major General Milton A. Reckord Trophy and General Walter T. Kerwin Jr. Award.
WHEREAS, the National Guard Association of the United States awarded the Major General Milton A. Reckord Trophy to the 152nd Battalion as the most outstanding Army National Guard battalion, achieving the highest standards in training and readiness in the nation; and
WHEREAS, the Association of the United States Army awarded the General Walter T. Kerwin Jr. Award to the 152nd Battalion as the most outstanding Army National Guard battalion in the nation for demonstrated excellence in operational planning, execution of training, and high-readiness standards; and
WHEREAS, this is the second time the 152nd Battalion has received these accolades; and
WHEREAS, the selection is based on overall combat readiness and the unit's performance with respect to all other Army National Guard units. The factors included in the evaluation and selection are personnel strength, individual and crew-served weapons firing, the Army Physical Fitness Test, unit manning, skill-level qualifications, retention, drill attendance, operational readiness inspections, supply operations and management, outstanding accomplishments, and special missions; and
WHEREAS, the 152nd Battalion continues to demonstrate support to its community and the state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Sixth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature expresses its respect, commendation, and congratulations to the South Dakota Army National Guard 152nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion for earning the Reckord Trophy and Kerwin Award. The 152nd Battalion is further recognized for its outstanding service to South Dakota and the United States.
