        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to prohibit any person who fails to file certain campaign finance documents to be a candidate for office.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. That chapter 12-27 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
    In addition to the administrative penalty provided by § 12-27-29.1, no person may be certified as a candidate for office if the person has failed to file any statement, amendment, or correction required to be filed by this chapter and the failure to file has not been remedied by the person prior to the secretary of state's action to certify the person as a candidate for office.
