        A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending and honoring Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SO2) Timothy J. Amdahl, United States Navy, a South Dakota native son, for his exemplary performance of duty while in the service of our country.

    WHEREAS, Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SO2) Timothy J. Amdahl is a volunteer member of our armed forces who has chosen to serve our country at the tip of the spear with the SEAL Teams of the United States Navy; and

    WHEREAS, Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SO2) Timothy J. Amdahl graduated from Navy Boot Camp on September 26, 2008, as the Honor Recruit for Division 858; and

    WHEREAS, Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SO2) Timothy J. Amdahl received accelerated promotion to Petty Officer 3rd Class on July 9, 2009, due to his noted abilities to assert his authority as a leader and take on more responsibilities within the Navy; and

    WHEREAS, Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SO2) Timothy J. Amdahl has completed Naval Free Fall Course, Naval Static Line Course, Naval Special Warfare Basic Training Command's Basic Underwater Demolitions/SEAL Training, and the Basic Cold Weather Maritime Course, at the top of his classes; and

    WHEREAS, Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SO2) Timothy J. Amdahl's performance of duty and exemplary representation of South Dakota in the combat of arms profession, is in keeping with the highest traditions established by South Dakota Veterans and the United States Armed Forces:

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Eighty-sixth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SO2) Timothy J. Amdahl be commended and honored for his service to our great country, as well as his exceptional

representation of the State of South Dakota. Best wishes are extended for his continued success and happiness, with our heartfelt prayers for him and his SEAL teammates' safety.
