CONSIDERATION OF EXECUTIVE VETOES

HB 1197     (Veto letter HJ 734 - 736) allow single-family dwellings that are under construction or listed for sale by contractors to be classified as owner-occupied single-family dwellings for the purpose of taxation.

HB 1038 *    (Consideration of Senate amendment; SJ 676) increase the license fees for coin- operated washers and dryers, to increase the brand registration fees on certain alcoholic beverages, to increase the fees for certain malt beverage and wine licenses, and to revise the distribution of certain malt beverage and wine license fees.
HB 1060 *    (Consideration of Senate amendments; SJ 587, 709) revise certain provisions regarding the mortgage lender business and to provide for fees and penalties related thereto.
HB 1072 *    (Consideration of Senate amendments; SJ 609, 708) repeal certain provisions concerning the delayed remittance of sales and use taxes for certain businesses.
     Increase the gross receipts tax imposed on visitor-related businesses.
HB 1079 *    (Consideration of Senate amendments; SJ 678) revise certain provisions regarding the sex offender registry.



HB 1163 *    (Consideration of Senate amendments; SJ 638) excuse certain elderly persons from jury duty upon request and to revise certain provisions relating to the minimum age for jury service.
     Provide for excusing certain elderly persons from jury duty upon request.
HB 1183 *    (Consideration of Senate amendments; SJ 676) leverage public investments in higher education facilities and grant programs with private moneys, to authorize the Board of Regents and the South Dakota Building Authority to contract for construction of the Higher Education Center-West River, to fund certain postsecondary education grant programs, to authorize the use of higher education facilities funds to construct the new dairy manufacturing plant at South Dakota State University in Brookings, and to make an appropriation therefor.
HB 1237 *    (Consideration of Senate amendment; SJ 716) make an appropriation to fund certain property and sales tax refunds for elderly persons and persons living with a disability.
HB 1280 *    (Consideration of Senate amendment; SJ 646) create reduced ignition propensity standards for cigarettes, to authorize the state fire marshal to monitor such standards, and to provide penalties therefor.
HB 1281 *    (Consideration of Senate amendment; SJ 608) enhance funding for state highways, to increase fees on certain signs, displays, or devices, and to provide certain penalties.
