HB 1026*      revise certain bonding procedures and the annual fee of agents who sell hunting and fishing licenses for the Department of Game, Fish and Parks.
HB 1187      clarify the time of filing petitions for adoption.
HB 1193*      clarify the authority of federally regulated charter bus service operators to provide charter bus services to schools.
HB 1293*      revise the procedure to determine if real estate taxes have been paid before the date due.

SB 0085*      (rules suspended, deferred from 23rd LD, amended SJ 422 and 421) create a children's public health and education trust fund and a children's public health and education interest fund and to designate the interest fund for certain children's public health and education programs.
          revise certain powers of the South Dakota Building Authority, to provide for the establishment of a corporation by the authority, to provide for the transfer and sale of all future right, title, and interest of certain amounts payable to the state by various tobacco companies under a master settlement agreement, and to declare an emergency.

HB 1028*      (deferred from 24th LD) permit the provision of certain drugs and drug samples by physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurse midwives.
HB 1092*      (deferred from 24th LD) provide for the regulation of home inspectors.
HB 1095*      (deferred from 24th LD) authorize professional corporations, limited liability companies, or limited liability partnerships owned by certain health care professionals of more than one profession.
HB 1122*      (removed from consent calendar) require a removal agency to notify a county sheriff or chief of police after removing certain motor vehicles.
HB 1023*      prohibit the use of certain equipment in hunting activities at night, to provide certain exemptions from such prohibition, and to revise a related penalty.
HB 1096*      assign liability for certain attempts to prevent or delay the control or eradication of weeds or the mountain pine beetle.
HB 1109      provide for an interagency team review and a written finding that placement in a Department of Corrections facility is the least restrictive placement commensurate with the best interests of the child.
HB 1175*      authorize the Division of Insurance to promulgate rules regarding the privacy of medical records.
HB 1194*      revise the elements of the crime of stalking.

HISTORIC CAPITOL NOTE
During the 1897 Legislative Session, the Legislators met in joint session to elect a U. S. Senator for the state of South Dakota. The Legislature met “at the hour of 12 o'clock meridian” each day from the 15th Legislative Day until the 45th LD when James H. Kyle finally received a majority of the votes cast.
