SECOND READING OF SENATE BILLS AND JOINT RESOLUTIONS
SB 0008
(deferred from 5th LD) revise certain provisions relating to the establishment of a
separate market value for land in an identifiable region.
SB 0021
(reconsidered) allow for the additional public distribution of sex offender
information.
SB 0038
(deferred from 6th LD) repeal the requirement that the Department of Human
Services establish a training program for interpreters for the deaf.
SB 0043
(deferred from 6th LD) schedule certain controlled substances and to declare an
emergency.
LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATIONS
SC 0008
Honoring the 1999 Yankton Bucks High School football team, coaches, and staff
involved in the football program.
SC 0009
Commending and honoring Clarice Thyen, Waverly, South Dakota, as the 1999-
2000 Outstanding School Board Member.
HISTORIC CAPITOL NOTES
In 1891 the number of Standing Committees was set at 34 in each house. Through the years the number
has ranged to a high of 55 in the Senate and 59 in the House. Since 1981, thirteen Standing Committees
have functioned in each body.
