MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS

SB 0021      (intent to reconsider by which lost) allow for the additional public distribution of sex offender information.

SECOND READING OF SENATE BILLS AND JOINT RESOLUTIONS

SB 0033*      (removed from Consent Calendar, SJ 36-37) define the duty of insurers and rights of consumers with regard to auto insurance damage claims.
SB 0007*      (SJ 43) remove the legal presumption of correctness which attaches to the assessed valuation determined by the director of equalization.
SB 0014      revise the opening and closing times for polls.
SB 0015      define who may be appointed as a member of the precinct election board if a list is not provided by a party's county central committee.
SB 0016      require a candidate's financial statement to be filed biannually until disposition of all funds and payment of all obligations.
SB 0030*      (SJ 42) revise the procedures and causes for revocation of certain hunting, fishing, and trapping privileges, and to provide a penalty.
SB 0038      repeal the requirement that the Department of Human Services establish a training program for interpreters for the deaf.
SB 0043      schedule certain controlled substances and to declare an emergency.

LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATIONS

SC 0006      Honoring Kate Monson, South Dakota Girls' State Governor, and Andy T. Wiswall, South Dakota Boys' State Governor, and commending the South Dakota American Legion and Auxiliary for their sponsorship and coordination of the Girls' State and Boys' State programs.

SC 0007      Honoring the outstanding achievements of David J. Strom in the fields of teaching and public service.

The first session of the State Legislature was November 2, 1889, for the purpose of organizing and for electing two U.S. Senators. Those Senators were F. R. Pettigrew and G. C. Moody.
