BILLS FOR POSSIBLE ACTION WHICH HAVE HAD PRIOR HEARING.

HB 1249*      provide for the development and administration by the state of certain standardized academic achievement tests.
          Representatives Sutton (Daniel), Crisp, Davis, Fischer-Clemens, Garnos, Haley, Kooistra, McIntyre, Nachtigal, and Wilson and Senators Olson, Dennert, Reedy, and Staggers

HB 1257*      provide financial incentives for teachers who are nationally certified.
          Representatives Garnos, Brown (Richard), Earley, Fiegen, Kooistra, Lucas, and McCoy and Senator Olson

HB 1255*      create the South Dakota Science and Technology Council.
          Representatives Smidt, Clark, Cutler, Duenwald, Eccarius, Engbrecht, McCoy, Napoli, Richter, and Roe and Senators Ham, Brown (Arnold), Everist, Halverson, and Lawler

HB 1228*      clarify the effect of student suspension or expulsion on transfers.
          Representative Cutler and Senator Paisley

The Committee will be open to suggestions for summer study topics.
