SJR 0001      Proposing and submitting to the electors at the next general election amendments to Article VIII of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota to permit the investment of the permanent school funds in certain stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other financial instruments and to use a certain portion of the interest and income to increase the principal in the fund.
          Senators Ham, Halverson, Reedy, Symens, and Vitter and Representatives Lucas and Hennies

SB 0012*      provide for a conservation easement for certain state lands.
          The Committee on State Affairs at the request of the Commissioner of School and Public Lands

SB 0054*      permit schools to display religious documents under certain circumstances.
          Senators Lawler, Dunn (Rebecca), Flowers, Lange, Madden, Reedy, Symens, and Vitter and Representatives Weber, Diedtrich (Elmer), Duenwald, Monroe, Sebert, and Waltman

SB 0092*      revise certain provisions regarding the time period to collect signatures for initiative petitions and initiated constitutional amendment petitions.
          Senators Everist, Bogue, Brosz, Dunn (Jim), Halverson, Olson, Rounds, and Shoener and Representatives Hunt, Brooks, Davis, Fiegen, Konold, and Peterson

SCR 0004      Requesting all South Dakota residents to be counted on April 1, 2000, for the 2000 Census.
          Senators Rounds and Hutmacher and Representatives Cutler and Haley

NOTE: The above bills will be taken up in this order for a hearing on the date noted. If circumstances do not permit a hearing on this date then a hearing will be held at the next meeting of the committee. Action on a bill may come at any time after it has had a hearing.
