Dr. Tad Perry, Executive Director, SD Board of Regents, will make a presentation on higher education in South Dakota.

HB 1013      to allow postsecondary technical institutes to refer debt collection to the Bureau of Administration.
          The Committee on Education at the request of the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs

HB 1014      to limit the time that substitute teachers may teach and to require in-service training of substitute teachers.
          The Committee on Education at the request of the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs

HB 1015      to revise certain provisions relating to open enrollment.
          The Committee on Education at the request of the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs

HB 1031      to allow certain driver education courses from other states to be used to meet the requirements for a restricted minor's permit.
          The Committee on Education at the request of the Department of Commerce and Regulation

NOTE: The above bills will be taken up in this order for a hearing on the date noted. If circumstances do not permit a hearing on this date then a hearing will be held at the next meeting of the committee. Action on a bill may come at any time after it has had a hearing.
