        Carol Stonefield, Director of Information and Institutional Research, SD Board
        Regents, will briefly address the committee regarding changes taking place in
        higher education.

SB 0028      to provide payment of tuition costs to nonpublic education programs for students in governmental custody and to eliminate certain payments to educational programs operated by public school districts.
          The Committee on Education at the request of the Department of Social Services

SB 0049      to authorize certain doctoral graduates to teach without teaching certificates.
          Senators Staggers, Ham, Kloucek, Lange, Madden, and Shoener and Representatives Brooks, Cerny, McCoy, Monroe, Napoli, and Slaughter

SB 0024      to require kindergarten attendance.
          The Committee on Education at the request of the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs

NOTE: The above bills will be taken up in this order for a hearing on the date noted. If circumstances do not permit a hearing on this date then a hearing will be held at the next meeting of the committee. Action on a bill may come at any time after it has had a hearing.
