     On page 1 , line 7 of the printed bill , delete " supervision and management " and insert " necessary supervision, health care, and education to women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, conducting deliveries on the midwife's own responsibility, and providing immediate postpartum care of the newborn. The term includes the identification of the physical, social, and emotional needs of the newborn and the woman, and arranging for consultation, referral, and continued involvement if the care required extends beyond the abilities of the midwife. " .

     On page 1 , delete lines 8 and 9 .

     On page 2 , line 25 , after " America " insert " and the standards set for the certified professional midwife by the North American Registry of Midwives " .

     On page 3 , line 9 , delete " Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary " and insert " Midwifery Education Accreditation Council " .

     On page 3 , line 10 , delete " Accreditation " .

     On page 4 , line 18 , delete " May not have failed " and insert " Shall have passed " .
