Ron Wheeler, Secretary of Transportation, introduced his staff (Documents 1 and 2): Jim Jenssen,
Planning and Engineering, Roxanne Rice, Director of Fiscal and Public Assistance; Clyde Pietz,
Director of Operations, and Laurel Selken, Legislative Activities.
Gary Viken, Secretary of the Department of Revenue, gave a report about his department. There are 192 employees in seven locations. The five divisions are: Business Tax Division, Property and
Special Taxes Divison, Division of Administrative Services, Motor Vehicles Division, and Audit
Division. Secretary Viken suggested the committee members review the Department of Revenue's
1996 Annual Report.
Deb Hillmer, Director of Motor Vehicles, explained the role of the Division of Motor Vehicles
(Documents 3 and 4).
HB 1035:
to revise certain provisions pertaining to the regulation of vehicle
dealers, snowmobile dealers, and boat dealers.
