SJR 1     (Intent to Reconsider Vote by which Passed) To propose a constitutional amendment to authorize the Legislature on the advice of the Governor, to forestall certain threats from interstate gaming.

HB 1023     authorize the secretary of transportation to create limited speed zones through highway work areas under certain conditions.
HB 1034     revise certain provisions relating to earnings subject to garnishment.
HB 1133     authorize certain specialty license plates to be placed on motorcycles.

SB 115     (Deferred from 18th LD) revise certain provisions related to the initiation of modifications to county comprehensive plans.
SB 72 *    make an appropriation to initiate a master of social work degree program in higher education.
SB 74 *    direct the Office of the Attorney General to study the creation of a state medical examiner system and to declare an emergency.
SB 113     clarify certain provisions related to the provision of water services by municipalities or rural water systems in areas located within three miles of a municipality.
SB 155     provide for the revision of certain offensive geographic place names.

HB 1088 *    (Deferred from 18th LD) provide for the continuance of certain ex parte temporary protection orders.
HB 1089 *    (Deferred from 18th LD) provide the court with discretion in ordering certain hearings on protection order petitions.
HB 1053 *    repeal the prohibition against the resale of certain seized or abandoned property purchased from the secretary of game, fish and parks.
HB 1097 *    provide for certain filing fees and surcharges in certain civil cases and to provide exemptions in certain cases.

LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATIONS

SC 7     (SJ 18th LD) Commending the 2008 Yankton High School Bucks Boys' Cross Country Team for winning the state title in the Class AA State Cross Country Meet for the fourth consecutive year.
SC 8     (SJ 18th LD) Honoring Earv Archambeau, son of Rita and the late Merv Archambeau of Avon, South Dakota, for his outstanding accomplishments as a high school athlete.
HC 1006     (HJ p. 305) Commending the Tri-Valley School District's observance of the National Education Association's “Read Across America Day.”
