An Act to establish meetings to review certain electric systems.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added:

49-34A-116. Electric utility meetings--Review of systems--Notice and filings.

Annually, on or about the first Monday of May, any electric utility having an adjoining service area shall, in a public meeting, engage in a review of electric systems, including any existing facilities and planned facilities or improvements in service areas outside a municipality that owns and operates its own electric utility. The governing body of the municipality shall provide notice pursuant to § 1-25-1.1 for the meeting and shall record the meeting. Upon completion of the meeting, the governing body of the municipality shall file maintain recordings and minutes with the commission.
