An Act to limit gifts to directors or employees of certain government districts.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added:

34A-16-7.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a regional recycling and waste management district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district commissioner or employee of the district.

Section 2. That a NEW SECTION be added:

46A-3D-1.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a water development district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 3. That a NEW SECTION be added:

46A-18-34.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a water project district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 4. That a NEW SECTION be added:

46A-4-47.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year an irrigation district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 5. That a NEW SECTION be added:

46A-9-33.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a water user district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 6. That a NEW SECTION be added:

46A-14-42.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a watershed district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district manager or employee of the district.

Section 7. That a NEW SECTION be added:

34A-5-27.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a sanitary district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district trustee or employee of the district.

Section 8. That a NEW SECTION be added:

38-8-47.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a conservation district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any conservation district supervisor or employee of the district.

Section 9. That a NEW SECTION be added:

40-37-9.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a predator control district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 10. That a NEW SECTION be added:

34-11A-14.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year an ambulance district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 11. That a NEW SECTION be added:

34-31A-15.2. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a rural fire protection district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 12. That a NEW SECTION be added:

34-10-33. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a public hospital district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district trustee or employee of the district.

Section 13. That a NEW SECTION be added:

49-17A-10.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a regional railroad authority may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district commissioner or employee of the district.

Section 14. That a NEW SECTION be added:

49-36-16.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a consumer power district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district director or employee of the district.

Section 15. That a NEW SECTION be added:

31-12A-21.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year a road district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district trustee or employee of the district.

Section 16. That a NEW SECTION be added:

7-25A-20.1. Limitation on gifts.

During a calendar year an improvement district may not give gifts using district funds having a cumulative value of one hundred thousand dollars or more to any district supervisor or employee of the district.
