POLICY CHAIR TESTIMONY:

Senator Deb Solholt, Chair, Senate Health and Human Services, met with the Joint Committee on Appropriations, to give testimony about long term care issues in the State of South Dakota. Nursing homes are closing, the baby boomer generation is aging, and the number of dementia cases are rising. Senator Soholt indicated the South Dakota Executive and Legislative Branches need to find a new model of care and long term solution. She indicated her committee would like to be a part of the solution.

    HB 1260: make an appropriation to continue the veteran's bonus program and to declare an emergency.
