Let us pray,
Merciful God, we give You thanks for giving us another year. We give You thanks also
for sustaining us through Your presence, wisdom, patience, and love. We ask that the
deliberations and decisions of this body prove fruitful for our great State.
We ask Your blessing now on the men and women of this Senate, so that they might be
their best in representing not only their constituents, but all the citizens of our State. Give them
strength and wisdom to fulfill their oaths of office.
We thank You as well for this marvelous forum, where the important business of this
State has been decided in the past and will continue to be decided in the upcoming year.
May the work to be done be inspired by the wisdom of prophets and the love of faithful people.
