    The House convened at 2:00 p.m., pursuant to adjournment, the Speaker presiding.

    The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor J. P. Mosley, Jr., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by House page Elizabeth Enalls.

    Roll Call: All members present except Reps. Dryden and Killer who were excused.

APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL

MR. SPEAKER:

    The Committee on Legislative Procedure respectfully reports that the Chief Clerk of the House has had under consideration the House Journal of the second day.

    All errors, typographical or otherwise, are duly marked in the temporary journal for correction.

MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS

    HCR 1001: A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION, Encouraging school districts to build on their individual strengths by working together with other school districts to provide a rich educational opportunity for all students.

    Rep. Sly moved that HCR 1001 as found on page 11 of the House Journal be adopted.

    I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the Senate has adopted the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to securing chaplains for the Eighty-ninth Legislative Session.

Also MR. SPEAKER:

    I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the Senate has adopted the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to setting the compensation schedule for the elective and appointive officers and employees of the Senate and House for the Eighty-ninth Legislative Session.
