An Act to make an appropriation for the construction of historical exhibits at the Cultural Heritage Center.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. There is appropriated $1,500,000 in other fund expenditure authority, to the Department of Education, for increased costs related to constructing, renovating, and modernizing historical exhibits at the Cultural Heritage Center, as authorized in 2022 Session Laws, chapter 240, section 1.

Section 2. The state treasurer shall transfer $1,500,000 from the tourism promotion fund to the other activities fund within the Department of Education, for the purpose set forth in section 1 of this Act.

Section 3. The secretary of the Department of Education shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized in section 1 of this Act.

Section 4. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.

Section 5. This Act is effective beginning June 30, 2025.
