         HB 1279      align math and science education with South Dakota's historic and unique scientific opportunities, to direct the Department of Education to initiate Project Lead the Way, to develop a clearinghouse for certain educational opportunities, and to provide for an independent analysis of the state's content standards, and to make an appropriation therefor.
             Representatives Rhoden, Deadrick, Dykstra, Gilson, Halverson, Haverly, Heineman, Krebs, Lust, McLaughlin, Peters, Rave, Turbiville, Weems, and Wick and Senators Knudson, Dempster, Gray, McCracken, Nesselhuf, Olson (Ed), and Smidt (Orville)

         HB 1214      create a required minimum salary for teachers who teach in school districts that receive state aid funding.

         BILLS FOR POSSIBLE ACTION WHICH HAVE HAD PRIOR HEARING.

         HB 1262      enhance the salaries of teachers in South Dakota.
             Representatives Buckingham, Heineman, McLaughlin, and Van Etten and Senator Olson (Ed)

         HB 1268      establish a statewide minimum teacher salary that school districts must meet within five years and to allow school districts to receive funds through the teachers compensation assistance program to meet the minimum salary requirement.
             Representatives Noem, Brunner, Cutler, Elliott, Faehn, Hackl, Hargens, Kirkeby, Miles, Pitts, Rausch, and Rhoden and Senators Olson (Ed), Abdallah, Apa, Greenfield, Hansen (Tom), Hanson (Gary), McCracken, and McNenny
        
HB 1257      limit the total amount of revenue payable from taxes on real property within a school district for the purposes of its capital outlay fund.

         HB 1224      provide for the funding of certain reduced tuition programs for veterans and teachers.
