An Act to make an appropriation for grants to support airport terminal improvement, expansion, and infrastructure projects.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of $90,000,000 $30,000,000 to the Aeronautics Commission for grants to support airport terminal improvement, expansion, and infrastructure projects at public airports to meet current and future capacity demands at public airports. The Aeronautics Commission shall make grants pursuant to § 50-2-12.

Section 2. The Aeronautics Commission shall grant $18,000,000 each fiscal year from fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2029.

Section 2. The secretary of the Department of Transportation shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.

Section 3. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated by June 30, 2034, shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.

Section 4. This Act is effective beginning June 30, 2024.
