An Act to
prohibit the
spouse of a member of the Legislature from being employed as a
privatecertain
spouses from registering as a
lobbyist.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:
Section 1. That chapter 2-12 be amended with a NEW SECTION:
No
person may be
employed
register as a registered
private lobbyist
if the person's spouse is a
:
(1) A
current member of the Senate or House of Representatives.
This section does not apply to an executive or judicial agency
representative as provided in § 2-12-7.1;
or
(2) A full-time employee of this state.
