An Act to make an appropriation to the Office of the Secretary of State for voter roll systems and maintenance, ballot machines voting systems, and election security.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of $313,107 and the sum of $3,000,000 in federal fund expenditure authority to the Office of the Secretary of State, for voter roll systems and maintenance, ballot machines voting systems, and election security.

Section 2. The secretary of state shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.

Section 3. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated by June 30, 2026 December 20, 2024, shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.

Section 4. This Act is effective June 26, 2023.
