An Act to make an appropriation to provide funding for major infrastructure projects to support South Dakota airports.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of $20,000,000$1 to the Department of Transportation, for the purpose of providing grants to supplement local and federal funding for the following South Dakota airport infrastructure projects:

(1) Safety-related projects;

(2)(1) Equipment for mowing or snow removal; and

(3)(2) Pavement rehabilitation and construction for runways, and taxiways, and;

(3) arrival Arrival and departure terminals; and

(4) Terminal systems eligible for state or federal matching funds.

Section 2. The Aeronautics commission may provide advisement to the secretary of the Department of Transportation on determining the awarding of grants from the appropriation provided in section 1 of this Act.

Section 3. The secretary of the Department of Transportation shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.

Section 4. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.

Section 5. This Act is effective June 26, 2023.
