On page 1, line 6, of the House State Affairs Engrossed bill, delete "The speaker shall appoint five members of the House of Representatives and three members of the public, at least two with involvement in public education. The president pro tempore shall appoint five members of the Senate and three members of the public, at least two with involvement in public education. The Governor shall appoint eight individuals. " and insert "
The committee must consist of:
(1) Four members of the House of Representatives, appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives;
(2) Four members of the Senate, appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate;
(3) Two administrators employed by school districts, appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives;
(4) Two administrators employed by school districts, appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate;
(5) One mental health professional, appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives;
(6) One mental health professional, appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate;
(7) One addiction and prevention professional who provides services primarily to juveniles, appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives;
(8) One addiction and prevention professional who provides services primarily to juveniles, appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; and
(9) Three persons representing the South Dakota Unified Judicial System, appointed by the Governor.
