The governing body of any local unit of government may delete any portion of the Uniform Plumbing Code before adopting the provisions within. Additional deletions or amendments to the adopted provisions of the Uniform Plumbing Code may be made by the governing body, and are effective upon their filing with the county auditor."

"
On page 1, line 21, of the Senate Engrossed bill, after "AMENDED:" delete "36-25-16. Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit any municipality by ordinance from making and enforcing requirements and standards regarding plumbing, and from making inspections and collecting fees relating thereto. Any such ordinances shall be deemed the applicable standards as to any plumbing work in such municipality, provided that the standards as contained in such ordinances meet the minimum standards of the State Plumbing Code as adopted by the commission and altered as provided for in this section or section 1 of this Act, and that any person registered by the commission may do plumbing work in such municipality for a period of six months following application for a permit or license in said municipality.
