An Act to establish the fundamental right of a parent.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. That chapter 1-1A be amended with a NEW SECTION:

The fundamental right to make decisions concerning the upbringing, education, and care of a child rests with the parents. This does not change the parental rights as established by South Dakota law as of July 1, 2022.
