An Act to revise certain provisions regarding absentee ballots.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. That § 12-19-1 be AMENDED.

12-19-1. Absentee ballot--Persons entitled to vote.

A registered voter who is not otherwise disqualified by law from voting in the election may vote by absentee ballot. The secretary of state may not mail an application for an absentee ballot unless the voter has requested it. No public entity or public organization may send an absentee request form that includes prepopulated personal information for a voter.
