AMENDMENT 24F FOR THE SENATE BILL

An Act to allow a change of voter registration information through an online system provided by the Office of the Secretary of State.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:
Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added:
12-4-2.4. Online adjustment of voter registration.
A
person eligible to vote under § 12-4-1,
and who has a valid South Dakota driver license or South Dakota
nondriver identification card, may submit changes of last name,
residence address, mailing address, telephone number, email address,
previous voter registration information, party affiliation, and
willingness to serve as an election worker for the purpose of
accurate voter registration records through an online electronic
system maintained by the Office of the Secretary of State. However,
the The
initial voter registration process of an eligible applicant may not
be submitted through any online electronic system, unless the
applicant qualifies to register under § 12-4-4.12
or as otherwise allowed by federal law.
