AMENDMENT 1108A FOR THE INTRODUCED BILL

An Act to permit the playing of an honor song or Lakota Flag Song at certain graduation ceremonies.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:
Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added:
13-1-67. Honor song or Lakota Flag Song permitted at graduation.
A high school, technical college, or institution governed by the Board of Regents may not prohibit the playing of an honor song or Lakota Flag Song at a graduation ceremony if requested by a graduating student. A student shall notify the appropriate school, college, or institution official of the request at least two weeks prior to the ceremony.
