         HB 1021*    add additional species to those which may be hunted without a license by residents on their own land.

         SECOND READING OF SENATE BILLS AND JOINT RESOLUTIONS

         SB 2*    (deferred from 23rd LD) establish certain procedures regarding the verification of initiative and referendum signatures.
         SB 3*    (deferred from 23rd LD) revise certain provisions relating to the circulation and signing of initiative and referendum petitions and to provide a penalty for violation thereof.
         SB 14*    (deferred from 23rd LD) increase the maximum fees for conducting certain weights and measures inspections and testing.
         SB 136*    (deferred from 23rd LD) provide for the release of the juvenile monitor's report after clearance by the attorney general and to provide for a confidential addendum to the report.



         SB 166    (deferred from 23rd LD) authorize additional off-sale retail liquor licenses in certain municipalities.
         SB 180*    (deferred from 23rd LD) provide for the recognition of certain adoption orders from foreign jurisdictions and to provide for the issuance of birth certificates for certain inter-country adoptions.
         SB 199    (deferred from 23rd LD) increase the compulsory attendance age for school attendance.
         SJR 2*    (deferred from 23rd LD) To propose a constitutional amendment to require certain meetings of the Legislature to be open to the public.
         SB 56    authorize the Board of Regents to acquire a seed technology facility for South Dakota State University, to make an appropriation therefor, and to declare an emergency.
         SB 100    appropriate money for the Northern Crops Institute.
         SB 105    require an annual adjustment to the general fund levies of a school district by reducing local effort by nine million dollars from funds deposited in the property tax reduction fund from the tax on cigarettes and other tobacco products.
         SB 207    increase the minimum wage.
         SB 219    make an appropriation for a drought tolerance biotechnology research center and to declare an emergency.

         HB 1163    (deferred from 23rd LD) allow certain repossessed motor vehicles to be sold without title in the name of the entity selling these motor vehicles.
         HB 1235    (deferred from 23rd LD) authorize the trapping and hunting of certain furbearing animals by nonresidents.
         HB 1019*    rename the rodent and reptile control fund and to validate the Department of Agriculture's authority to sell rodent control products.
         HB 1075*    make an appropriation for costs related to suppression of wildfires in the state and to declare an emergency.

         SC 9    (SJ 23rd LD) Honoring an outstanding South Dakota businessman, meat processor, and outdoorsman, Leeallen "Lee" Hofer, who passed on recently as he was clearing snow from the pond he created for fishing with his grandchildren.
