     The Senate convened at 2:00 p.m., pursuant to adjournment, the President presiding.

     The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Levi Willms, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Senate page Elizabeth Dougherty.

     Roll Call: All members present except Sens. Hundstad and Two Bulls who were excused.

APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL


MR. PRESIDENT:

     The Committee on Legislative Procedure respectfully reports that the Secretary of the Senate has had under consideration the Senate Journal of the second day.

     All errors, typographical or otherwise, are duly marked in the temporary journal for correction.

     And we hereby move the adoption of the report.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES


MR. PRESIDENT:

    The Committee on Education respectfully reports that it has had under consideration SB  28, 32, and 34 and returns the same with the recommendation that said bills do pass.

Also MR. PRESIDENT:

    The Committee on Education respectfully reports that it has had under consideration SB  26, 27, and 29 and returns the same with the recommendation that said bills do pass and be placed on the Consent Calendar.

Also MR. PRESIDENT:

    The Committee on Education respectfully reports that it has had under consideration SB 33 and returns the same with the recommendation that said bill be amended as follows:

CONSIDERATION OF REPORTS OF JOINT-SELECT COMMITTEES


     Sen. Knudson moved that the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to distribution of legislative documents for the Eighty-second Legislative Session as found on page 44 of the Senate Journal be adopted.

     Which motion prevailed.


     Sen. Knudson moved that the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to fixing compensation for the Eighty-second Legislative Session as found on page 43 of the Senate Journal be adopted.

     Which motion prevailed.

     Sen. Knudson moved that the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to making arrangements for legislative days for the Eighty-second Legislative Session as found on page 43 of the Senate Journal be adopted.

     Which motion prevailed.

     Sen. Knudson moved that the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to securing chaplains for the Eighty-second Legislative Session as found on page 46 of the Senate Journal be adopted.

     Which motion prevailed.

     Sen. Knudson moved that the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to a Joint Memorial Service for deceased former members of the Senate and House as found on page 45 of the Senate Journal be adopted.

FIRST READING OF SENATE BILLS AND JOINT RESOLUTIONS


     SB 70   Introduced by:  Senators Gant, Garnos, and Napoli and Representatives Weems, Peters, and Wick

       FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to   repeal the regulation of massage therapists.

     Was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services.

     There being no objection, the Senate reverted to Order of Business No. 8.


MESSAGES FROM THE HOUSE


MR. PRESIDENT:

    I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the House has adopted the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to fixing compensation for the elective and appointive officers and members of the Eighty-second Legislative Session.

Also MR. PRESIDENT:

    I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the House has adopted the report of the Joint-Select Committee for the purpose of arranging legislative days for members, officers, and employees of the House and Senate.

Also MR. PRESIDENT:

    I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the House has adopted the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to making arrangements for the distribution of the official directory, Senate and House Journals, bills, and other legislative printing.

Also MR. PRESIDENT:

    I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the House has adopted the report of the Joint-Select Committee for the purpose of securing chaplains for the Eighty-second Legislative Session.

Also MR. PRESIDENT:

    I have the honor to inform your honorable body that the House has adopted the report of the Joint-Select Committee relative to making arrangements for a memorial recognition of deceased former members of the Senate and House.
