CONSIDERATION OF EXECUTIVE VETOES

         HB 1141    (Veto Letter HJ p. 742) provide standards for interpreting for the deaf and hard-of- hearing by requiring national interpreter certification and to repeal the state certification process and replace it with registration.

         HB 1240*    (Concurrence in Senate amendment; SJ p. 617) make an appropriation for low income energy assistance, and to declare an emergency.
         HB 1020*    (Concurrence in Senate amendment; SJ p. 571) reappropriate certain moneys to state aid to general education.
         HB 1055*    (Concurrence in Senate amendment; SJ p. 610) appropriate money for international trade representation and to declare an emergency.
         HB 1090*    (Concurrence in Senate amendment; SJ p. 611) appropriate money for compensatory payments to certain school districts and to revise provisions related to certain school district entitlements.

         SB 148    (HJ p. 752) revise certain provisions regarding the sex offender registry and the supervision of sex offenders.
        




         HJR 1001    To revise and establish certain constitutional provisions regarding the lieutenant governor and the presiding officers of the Senate and House of Representatives.
         HB 1163    revise certain provisions regarding court suspensions and revocations of driver licenses.
         SB 98     revise certain provisions regarding age requirements for the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
              Limit the transfer or renewal of certain alcohol beverage licenses.
         SB 184     provide for the notification of certain members of the armed forces concerning screening for exposure to depleted uranium.
              Require a report to the Legislature regarding certain veterans' health issues.
         SB 143     create South Dakota Achievement Days, and to make an appropriation therefor.
              Make an appropriation to the state fair.
         HB 1236    create the South Dakota Virtual High School.

         LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATIONS

         SC 9    (SJ p. 674) Honoring the service and contributions of South Dakota's citizens who serve in the Armed Forces Reserve.
         SC 10    (SJ p. 675) Commending and honoring Travis Arment, a senior business administration major at the University of Sioux Falls, for his exemplary leadership, character, and athletic achievement during his college career.

         HB 1175     increase the school term and to compensate school districts for the increase.
              Appropriate money for nonrecurring education enrichment.
              Repeal certain provisions regarding the reduction in state aid to education based on school district general fund balances, to appropriate funds to increase funding to education and assist sparse school districts, and to increase the distribution from the education enhancement trust fund.

         HB 1238    authorize the Board of Regents to purchase certain real property for the sole purpose of providing a site for the operation of instructional, research and service programs delivered through institutions established by the Legislature and governed by the Board of Regents, to make an appropriation therefor, and to declare an emergency.

         HB 1244    transfer funds from the property tax reduction fund, to make an appropriation to construct instructional classrooms, and to declare an emergency.
