CONSIDERATION OF EXECUTIVE VETOES

         HB 1141    (Veto Letter; HJ p. 742) provide standards for interpreting for the deaf and hard-of- hearing by requiring national interpreter certification and to repeal the state certification process and replace it with registration.

# Concurrence in Senate Amendment

         HB 1020*#    (Deferred from 32nd LD; SJ p. 571) reappropriate certain moneys to state aid to general education.
         HB 1167*#    (Deferred from 32nd LD; SJ pp. 629 630) create a tax relief fund and to dedicate certain sales and use tax revenue received by the state through the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement and to provide compensation to certain retailers for collecting and remitting the sales tax.
         HB 1055*#    (SJ p. 610) appropriate money for international trade representation and to declare an emergency.
         HB 1058*#    (SJ p. 590) revise certain provisions regarding investigations of the Division of Insurance.
         HB 1060*#    (SJ p. 589) revise the property tax levies for the general fund of a school district.
         HB 1090*#    (SJ p. 611) appropriate money for compensatory payments to certain school districts and to revise provisions related to certain school district entitlements.

        


         HB 1128*#    (SJ p. 610) increase the rate of taxation that municipalities may impose on certain goods and services.
              Revise certain provisions concerning the valuation of agricultural land for ad valorem taxation.
         HB 1175*#    (SJ p. 612) increase the school term and to compensate school districts for the increase.
              Appropriate money for nonrecurring education enrichment.
              Repeal certain provisions regarding the reduction in state aid to education based on school district general fund balances, to appropriate funds to increase funding to education and assist sparse school districts, and to increase the distribution from the education enhancement trust fund.
         HB 1176*#    (SJ pp. 549, 616) prohibit certain school districts that operate small high schools from receiving state aid to education.
              Allow the Department of Education to enter into certain enrollment agreements with the state of Minnesota and make an appropriation therefor.
              Define enrolled pupils or students for purposes of state aid to education.
         HB 1232*#    (SJ p. 572) revise certain provisions concerning the freeze on property assessments for disabled and senior citizens.
         HB 1233*#    (SJ p. 590) restrict where certain alcoholic beverage licenses may be located.
              Provide for the establishment and operation of artisan distillers and to revise certain provisions concerning farm wineries.
         HB 1238*#    ( SJ pp. 607, 657) authorize the Board of Regents to purchase certain real property for the sole purpose of providing a site for the operation of instructional, research and service programs delivered through institutions established by the Legislature and governed by the Board of Regents, to make an appropriation therefor, and to declare an emergency.
         HB 1240*#    (SJ p. 617) make an appropriation for low income energy assistance, and to declare an emergency.
         HB 1244*#    (SJ p. 608) transfer funds from the property tax reduction fund, to make an appropriation to construct instructional classrooms, and to declare an emergency.

         HC 1032    (HJ 32nd LD) Commending and honoring the 2005-2006 Madison High School Lady Bulldogs Gymnastics Team for their twelfth straight championship title in the Class A Gymnastics State Tournament.
         HC 1033    (HJ 32nd LD) Honoring the Milbank School District for outstanding accomplishments in state competitions.
         HC 1034    (HJ 32nd LD) Honoring Stephanie Cooper of Brookings, South Dakota, and Brianne Nelson of Volga, South Dakota, on being named among the top youth volunteers in South Dakota for 2006, in the annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
         HC 1035    (HJ 32 nd LD) Honoring Alcester-Hudson Elementary School for being named as a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School for 2005.



        
         HC 1036    (HJ 32nd LD) Honoring Jean Nelson for being named Social Worker of the Year by the East River Intrastate Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect.
         SC 12    (SJ 32nd LD) Commending and honoring Leah Nixon for receiving the Prudential Spirit of Community Award for being one of the top volunteers in South Dakota.
         SC 13    (SJ 32nd LD) Commending and honoring Abbey Merchen for receiving the Prudential Spirit of Community Award for being one of the top volunteers in South Dakota.
