     HC 1023   Introduced by:  Representatives Rounds and Olson (Ryan) and Senator Gray

         A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,  Honoring the 2004 State Champion Pierre Post 8 13-14 year old Teener Baseball Team and the parents and coaching staff involved in the teener baseball program.

     WHEREAS,  the 2004 Pierre Post 8 13-14 year old Teener Baseball Team won the State VFW Championship by virtue of outstanding character, sportsmanship, and dedication to excellence both on and off the field; and

     WHEREAS,  the 2004 Pierre Post 8 13-14 year old Teener Baseball Team has dedicated themselves to this sport and earned an exceptional 36-2 record; and

     WHEREAS,  the 2004 Pierre Post 8 13-14 year old Teener Baseball Team received superior coaching and outstanding leadership guidance from head coach Tyler Merriam, assistant coaches Trevor Fisher and Brian Pope and Legion coach Jim Iverson; and

     WHEREAS,  the members of the 2004 State Champion 13-14 Teener Team showing enormous unity include Kyle Cichos, Will Corcoran, Matt Farris, Chance Frederick, Evan Fuller, Michael Gardner, Jordan Heckenlaible, Derrick Heninger, Jayson Herra, Sam Koenecke, Alex Lauseng, Jason Livermont, Graham Schuetzle, Jordan Shangreaux, and Nate White, and bat boys Dallas Heninger and Tyson Shangreaux:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED,  by the Eightieth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the 2004 Pierre Post 8 13-14 year old Teener Baseball Team be commended for their excellence in athletics during the 2004 baseball season and for winning the 2004 VFW State Championship.
