     The Senate convened at 1:00 p.m., pursuant to adjournment, the President presiding.

     The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Brad Urbach, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Senate page Miranda Phelps.

     Roll Call: All members present except Sens. Tom Hansen and Jim Peterson who were excused.

APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL


MR. PRESIDENT:

     The Committee on Legislative Procedure respectfully reports that the Secretary of the Senate has had under consideration the Senate Journal of the eighteenth day.

COMMEMORATION


     SC 9   Introduced by:  Senator Hundstad and Representatives Dennert and Elliott

         A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,  Recognizing and honoring the Dane and Donna Lambert family for their work with the Doland FFA Chapter.

     WHEREAS,  Becky Lambert, Dane and Donna's daughter, is the South Dakota State FFA President and has represented South Dakota on a European tour promoting FFA principles; and

     WHEREAS,  the Doland High School lost its FFA advisor due to funding cuts in the school and, Teri Lambert, a sophomore at the Doland High School, has assumed the duties of the FFA advisor with the support of her parents, Dane and Donna Lambert; and

     WHEREAS,  the community of Doland and the Doland High School are very proud of the Lambert family for undertaking this project even though the school is in danger of losing its FFA charter due to a lack of an official advisor:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED,  by the Eightieth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Dane and Donna Lambert family be recognized and honored for its service to the Doland High School and the community of Doland, South Dakota.

     HB 1033: FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  establish certain provisions with regard to the past tax liability of sellers who agree to collect sales and use tax under the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement.

     HB 1040: FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  repeal certain sales and use tax exemptions that conflict with certain statutory exemptions.

     HB 1043: FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  revise the definition of the term, prepared food, for sales and use tax purposes.

     HB 1066: FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  increase the amount of money authorized to contract for the construction of a law enforcement training academy, a criminal forensic laboratory, and a criminal justice and emergency operations center building, to remove the effective date for bonding, to increase the bonding authority, and to declare an emergency.

     And signed the same in the presence of the Senate.

     Sen. Dempster moved that the Senate do now adjourn, which motion prevailed and at 2:12 p.m. the Senate adjourned.
