The meeting was called to order by Representative Klaudt, Chair.

Auditor General Marty Guindon explained the responsibilities of the Government Operations and Audit Committee. The Department of Legislative Audit staffs this committee except for Department of Corrections issues.

MOTION:    TO ACCEPT THE JUVENILE CORRECTIONS MONITOR'S REPORT

The committee discussed the direction they would like to go during this session:
            Representative Peters requested information regarding state contracts. Legislative Audit will research those contracts and report back to the committee.
            Representative Buckingham asked if the committee might look at how changing the number of state FTE's will affect existing state contracts. Senator Earley explained how the Appropriations committee is examining that concern.
            Senator Gant suggested the committee look at various State Department's other fund budget balances. Senator Moore suggested the committee start with looking at the Department of Corrections and then the Department of Education.

Representative Klaudt requested a list of Department of Corrections contracts from the Department of Legislative Audit. Representative Peters asked for a two-year listing for comparison purposes.
